Infill Extensions or Side Return Extensions

We take a look at a property that has already been opened up but with a view to adding an extension and with Chris the Surveyor he will look more critically at the building and what is possible. The building is a London terraced 4 bedroomed house, with a kitchen and bathroom above tagged on the back.

Ideally it needs a new kitchen and this would form part of the extension which would be an ‘infill’ or side return extension  taking up part of the very small amount of garden laid to concrete, but in line with other properties around. Chris explains some of the issues and how to overcome them.

This is a typical type of extension and many will relate to the problems here with useful and valuable  information given. This is more than common sense and applies to many domestic buildings.

Internal Surveying

The Second Video looks more at the internals and through the eyes of an interior designer and what you need to do if you are inspecting a property. You may need to measure it up and take away a very comprehensive view of the rooms  and what is ‘essential surveying’ on your part.  

This takes time and not to be done with the Estate Agent waiting as it is all valuable information which may be the deciding factor before exchanging contracts.
